According to Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, President of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, one of the reasons for the declining quality of tertiary education in the nation is the establishment of universities without a plan for funding.
This was spoken by him as he presented a paper at the 14th Ralph Opara Memorial Lecture, with the topic "State of Tertiary Education."
