Buhari's assets have remained unchanged throughout his 8-year tenure as president.

Former President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria has completed and submitted his assets declaration form as required by the Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB).

This form was initially submitted in 2015 when he assumed office and again in 2019 at the start of his second term.

After leaving office on May 29, 2023, Buhari once again submitted the form to the CCB. According to his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, the declaration showed that Buhari did not acquire any new assets during his eight years as president.

The form indicated that his movable assets remained the same, with no increase in assets or new bank accounts.

It was also noted that the number of animals on his farm had decreased slightly as he had given some as gifts in the last four years.

The assets declaration process is mandatory for all public officers in Nigeria, requiring them to declare their assets and liabilities at the beginning and end of their tenure.

The declaration should include assets and liabilities of their spouses and children under 18 years of age.
