Napoli and Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has been named the best striker in the Italian Serie A for the 2022-23 season.
The announcement was made by Lega Serie A, the organizer of the league, on their official Twitter account.
Osimhen, a 24-year-old Nigerian, was recognized as one of the five most valuable players in different positions based on advanced analysis by Stats Perform.
He had an impressive season, scoring 25 league goals as Napoli won their first Scudetto in 33 years.
Osimhen's teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia was named the overall best player in the league, while other awards went to Nicolò Fagioli (best U-23 player), Ivan Provedel (best goalkeeper), Minjae Kim (best defender), and Nicolò Barella (best midfielder).
