Nasarawa - Fomer Deputy Governor Abducted By Gunmen

 


Prof. Onje Gye-Wado, a former Deputy Governor of Nassarawa state, was reportedly abducted by unknown gunmen from his residence in Wamba local government area on Friday, April 7. Gye-Wado served as deputy governor of Nassarawa from 1999 to 2003 during the administration of Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu.

According to the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Ramhan Nansel, the police were alerted to the incident and immediately dispatched operatives to the scene, but the abductors had already fled with the victim.

The state Commissioner of Police has since mobilized reinforcements, including police tactical teams, the military, vigilance groups, and local hunters, to aid in the search and rescue of the former deputy governor.

 The police spokesperson assured the public that the police would do their best to apprehend the kidnappers and bring them to justice.
