In Lade village in the Patigi local government area of Kwara
state, a member of a vigilante group named Samuel Jiyah was killed by suspected
thieves. Samuel was riding his motorcycle back from a neighboring village when
he was stabbed to death on Friday night.
His body was discovered the following day. The assailants
not only took his Bajaj motorcycle but also stole his valuables.
The incident was confirmed by Samuel's in-law and a friend,
who explained that he was attacked by bike snatchers in Lade village.
The women collecting firewood in a nearby farm found his
body in a bushy area and alerted passers-by. His ex-landlord was able to
identify him, and the deceased's family was notified.
Samuel's remains were retrieved and immediately buried in
his native village, Ekati.
