Nigerian chef Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda
Baci, has broken the Guinness World Record for the "longest cooking
marathon by an individual." She surpassed the previous record of 87 hours
and 45 minutes set by Lata Tandon.
Hilda began her cooking marathon on Thursday at 4 pm and
intends to cook for 96 hours, aiming to set a new world record.
Despite heavy rainfall during the early hours of Monday, she
received overwhelming support from political leaders, celebrities, clerics, and
fellow Nigerians.
Hilda had announced her ambition to break the record on
Instagram, stating her intention to cook continuously for four days and four
nights.
However, the Guinness World Record has yet to confirm her
achievement, as they need to review the evidence first.
